Finding God #Day3

“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
Jesus ; John 14:6

Jesus said He is the way. Not was the way. Same yesterday, today and tomorrow and every day after that.
The only way I can find The Father is by first finding Jesus. The only way I can get to a certain house with a certain address is by knowing the road that leads to that house, by identifying the exact street where the house is located.
Finding God means I have to know His son first. That’s why He sent him to the world, so the world may know him and through Jesus find Him. Jesus is not the bus stop. You can’t know Jesus and not know the Father. Also, you can’t accept Jesus and not have the Holy Spirit.
Let’s talk about Jesus a bit more. If I have the street that leads to the house I’m supposed to be going to, I won’t just stand at the beginning of the street, right? I’ll drive down till I get to where I’m going, right? Same way, if I want to get to the Father, I have to take a walk/drive in Jesus.

So yeah you know Jesus, you have accepted Him as your personal Lord and saviour with your mouth… Where’s your heart?
Romans 10:9-10: If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.

It’s not just about saying it, it’s about the heart too. A heart that’s ready to submit totally, exclusively to Jesus.

I was listening to a message recently about how a lot of people get saved but don’t want to be committed to Jesus. They want to be saved but without committing their lives to him. They want to be healed, want to be free from sin, want to live eternally but don’t want to be committed to Him. The preacher related it to being in a relationship with a guy. You like him a lot, you want to live in his house, drive his cars, get the benefits that come with being “associated” with him, but you don’t want to marry him!
When you marry him, you get his last name. You have made a commitment to you and him to you. Everything he owns becomes yours, big or small. You have a right to that name.
Same way, when you make a commitment to Jesus, you have power and authority to use his name. You have rights and privileges that come with being a believer, that won’t be yours if you are still “dating” Jesus.
Most importantly, you have access to the Father.

I need to ‘Marry’ Jesus not just ‘Date’ him for a while! I love that, thanks.
